When Is The Best Time To Hike In Kathmandu?

The best time to visit the Kathmandu Valley is between September and December. At this time, the weather will be mild and dry, and the hills and valleys will be at their most verdant after the annual monsoon rains have watered the forests and fields! You can expect clear views over the mountains and glaciers, and there are many festivals and local celebrations at this time of year, which will add a little excitement and local flavor to your trip!

Although the weather can be somewhat sticky, the flowering rhododendrons create lots of fantastic photo opportunities. Summer is best avoided, as the annual monsoon makes many trails inaccessible, the weather is humid, and the countryside is plagued by insects.
