Route Description for Wall Street Mill Trail
As the Wall Street Mill Trail is within the desert environment of Joshua Tree National Park, it is important to prepare yourself for the arid desert conditions. Ensure that you bring lots of water with you, as it is scarce if not nonexistent throughout the route. Likewise, ensure that you protect yourself from the sun with a good hat and lots of sunscreen, as shade is rare throughout the trail.
After leaving your vehicle at the parking lot, locate the Wall Street Mill Trailhead at the northern section of the lot. The trail heads in a northeastern direction alongside a stream, which may or may not have water in it. After a few hundred feet, the trail will cross the previously mentioned stream before reaching a junction. At the junction, go east across another stream as the trail veers to the northeast.
You will soon arrive at the trails namesake, the Wall Street Mill, where you should take the opportunity to explore the various abandoned historical buildings, and read the informative plaques spread throughout the area. Once you have thoroughly explored, backtrack your steps towards the trailhead. If you are interested in seeing the ruins of an old house and rusted out vintage car, at the first junction take the westernmost pathway, as it will lead you first to these sites, and then back to the trailhead.
