Route Description for North View and Maze Trail
If possible, we recommend doing the North View and Maze Trail earlier in the morning, or later in the evening to avoid the intense midday heat. Regardless of when you decide to do the route, ensure that you bring lots of water with you, and that you wear lots of sunscreen and a good hat!
Having arrived at the trailhead, take the Maze Loop Trail north a short distance until you reach a junction in the trail. At the junction, follow the southern path of the Maze Loop Trail as it makes its way through the open - and relatively flat - desert landscape. Continue to follow the Maze Loop Trail as it passes large hills to both your north and south. You will then arrive at a second junction.
At the junction, take the easternmost pathway as it traverses around the southern base of a large hill. The North View and Maze Trail will then veer to the north as the elevation begins to incline. The trail will then start to follow a stream that may or may not have water in it, depending on the time of year. After diverging from the stream, the trail will arrive at a third junction. Take the western path onto North View Trail and follow it through the craggy landscape that lies ahead. The North View and Maze Trail will turn to the south, where it will lead you back to the trailhead.
