Route Description for Mountain View and 3S89 Road Loop
As sections of Mountain View and 3S89 Road Loop are not along a designated Inyo National Forest pathway, care should be taken when attempting. We recommend bringing some sort of mapping tool with you in order to assist with wayfinding throughout the route.
With your vehicle parked, take the Earthquake Fault Parking Connector trail onto Mountain View Trail. Once on Mountain View Trail, follow it as it makes its way northwest. The terrain will steadily incline as the route begins to veer southwards, and takes you along a hillside. Prior to arriving at Dry Creek, you will leave Mountain View Trail and veer off the path towards 3S89 Road to your south.
Having made it to 3S89 Road, follow it as it makes its way south and eventually arrives at a junction. At the junction, stay on 3S89 Road by taking the eastern pathway and continue to follow it as it heads northeast. With the Earthquake Fault Parking Area visible to your east, leave 3S89 Road and head off trail to the east until you reach Mountain View Trail. Once you have made it, follow the pathway south until you arrive at the trailhead.
