Route Description for La Hupp Picnic Area To Green Lake Trail
While not the longest of routes, the elevation incline in relation to the La Hupp Picnic Area To Green Lake Trail is sizable - therefore making the trail moderately difficult. Due to its notable incline, the route is likely not appropriate for beginner hikers and families with young children. We recommend wearing lots of sunscreen and a good hat to help protect you from the effects of the powerful alpine sun.
Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the Rainbow Pack Station Trail south over terrain that almost immediately begins to incline. After crossing several creeks, the trail will deliver you to a junction. At the junction, take the eastern pathway onto a switchback section. With the initial switchbacks completed, you will arrive at a second junction where you are to take the northern pathway onto Green Lake Trail.
The Green Lake Trail will bring you up some more switchbacks before plateauing and passing along the shoreline of Brown Lake. Having passed Brown Lake, the Green Lake Trail will bring you over several creeks before delivering you to beautiful Green Lake. Stop for a rest and enjoy the scenic sightlines; you've earned it! Once you're ready to make your way back to the trailhead, backtrack your steps.
