Route Description for Dunes Overlook and Sand Ramp Trail
Short, sweet, and scenic are three words often used to describe the Dunes Overlook and Sand Ramp Hike. This stunning trail into the Sand Pit picnic area reveals awe-inspiring views of the looming sandhills and the Sangre de Cristo peaks line the horizon. Note this path is exposed, so make sure to pack plenty of water and wear sun protection in the summer months.
