Route Description for Christian Pond Trail
The Christian Pond Trail offers perfect birding and wildlife viewing opportunities. Explore the verdant meadows that bound the lively pond often adorned with waterfowl, eagles, osprey, otters, and sometimes moose, elk, and deer! Make sure to bring your camera; you never know what you will find! As with all adventures in the Grand Teton National Park, we encourage you or someone in your group to bring bear spray! Note the Grand Teton National Park charges an entrance fee; refer to the NPS website for additional information.
Embark on your adventurer along the Christian Pond Trail from the trailhead and parking lot. From here, the Christian Pond Trail intersects with the North Park Road before entering the wilderness. Soon after your departure from the trailhead, you will encounter an intersection; veer right here. Following the Christian Pond Trail, you will be guided along the western side of the pond. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you travel! As the path curves and distances from the pond, the Christian Pond Trail will merge with the Emma Matilda Lake heading north.
This section of the path is more shaded, though you will be granted the odd view of a Teton Mountain rising above the treeline. At the following junction, veer left and follow the Christian Pond Loop Trail all the way back to the trailhead and parking lot.
