The Juniper Valley Trail is a scenic, family-friendly adventure through the Sandstone Ranch Open Space. This hike exhibits large sandstone spires, pine and juniper trees and vast Front Range Vistas. Shared with horseback riders, this scenic excursion is sure to impress outdoor enthusiasts of all types.

Route Description for Juniper Valley Hike

The Juniper Valley Trail is short, but it packs a punch! Hike alongside horseback riders and mountain bikers as you adventure through the arid climate. Enjoy the uninterrupted vistas of the Front Range peaks as you travel around the loop. Be mindful of rattlesnakes as you walk and often see them sunning on the trail or nearby rocks! This hike is an awesome excuse to get the whole family outdoors as you explore the impressive sandstone spires along the Juniper Valley nature trail.

Begin your adventure around the Juniper Valley Trail from the parking lot. From the car park, take the Juniper Valley Loop Trail. Hike along the exposed path, and at the first intersection, veer right onto the Buzzard Loop Trail. At the trail’s end, keep right, merging back onto the Juniper Valley Loop Trail. Travel this route through juniper and pine trees and past grand sandstone spires. The path will begin to curve and reveal stunning overlooks of the Front Range.

Follow this path as it loops you back onto the main path again. Keep straight and retrace your steps along the Valley Loop Trail all the way back to the parking lot.
