Route Description for Inlet Bay Trail
The Inlet Bay Trail is an ideal nature walk for those seeking a relaxing excursion. Hike through grassy meadows and next to the crystalline reservoir. This family-friendly walk is the perfect excuse to get the whole gang out into nature. This trail also presents the opportunity to bike. Trade your hiking shoes for a bike for a different type of outdoor adventure. Note that because this path is located within the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, visitors must purchase a day pass that costs $9USD.
Being your nature walk along the Inlet Bay Trail from the Inlet Bay Parking Lot. Hike northeast along the reservoir’s shoreline and past the Inlet Bay Campground. Soon the path will intersect with Spring Creek before guiding you past the Inlet Bay Marina! There is lots to see on this adventure! Eventually the Inlet Bay Trail will culminate at the Soderberg Trailhead. From here, take the Swan Johnson Trail through the meadowlands. This section of the route will divert you away from the shore’s edge. Follow the path through the vast meadows until you confront Dixon Cove.
Enjoy the small cove and dip your feet in the water before beginning your return. When you are done exploring the shoreline, retrace your steps along the paths all the way back to the trailhead.
