The Forces of Nature to Pipeline Loop is a pretty hike that hugs the base of Elden Mountain the T V Hill, two of the most prominent mountains on the Flagstaff skyline. This trail also offers a bit of a history lesson, allowing you to learn about the Elden family. You’ll pass their homesite, Elden Spring, and the gravesite of 6-year old John Elden. Expect heavy traffic on this loop.

Route Description for Forces of Nature to Pipeline Loop

The Forces of Nature to Pipeline Loop takes you along the base of Elden Mountain and T V Hill, two of the mountains that sit most obviously on the skyline of Flagstaff. This hike is easy with enjoyable scenery and varied terrain. Expect heavy traffic and consider using a GPS track to help you navigate.

This route delivers a bit of a history lesson as you go. It allows you to learn about the Elden family, passing their homesite, Elden Spring, and the gravesite of 6-year old John Elden.

From the trailhead, take Elden Lookout Trail towards Elden Mountain. Once you reach the fork at the base of the mountain, go left. The route closely follows the base of the mountain on Forces of Nature Trail. At the T-junction, turn around and retrace your steps to the loop split. Go right here to take Pipeline Trail to where the trail meets, then continue back to the trailhead.
