Route Description for East Lyn River Loop Trail
Walking the East Lyn River Loop Trail is a wonderful excursion that is popular with visitors to the Lynton/Lynmouth area and want to explore the beautifully scenic gorge and surrounding landscape. Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the southeast along the winding banks of the river, crossing over to the opposite side to meander through the serene forest that characterizes the terrain here. Continue on until you arrive at the picturesque location of Watersmeet, where you will find an historic tea house to stop for refreshments. From here, you will climb up the hillside and make your way to the northwest above the gorge before descending through the forest on the return to the trailhead.

To get to the trailhead for the East Lyn River Loop Trail from the primary school in Lynton, drive southeast on Castle Hill for 0.2mi and turn left onto Lynmouth Hill, following it for 0.3mi before turning left onto Countisbury Hill/A39. After 112ft, turn left on Riverside Road, where you will find roadside parking.Route Information
