Route Description for Conundrum Creek Day Hike
Featuring some truly beautiful valley views that include the surrounding mountains, forests, and meadows, the Conundrum Creek Day Hike is an exceptional trail if you simply want to get outside to enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape near Aspen.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southwest alongside the banks of Conundrum Creek. On your right, you will be flanked by the steep slopes of Highland Peak, and further south through the valley you will be able to spot Hunter Peak and Hayden Peak.
As you continue along the trail and work your way through the valley, you will pass through stretches of woodland terrain and intermittent meadows, the former of which will sometimes obscure the creek from view, although you will still hear the trickling water close by. Eventually, you will exit the tree cover and arrive in a larger meadow with scenic views that marks the endpoint of the trail. For those who want a longer experience, you can always continue alongside the creek to the southwest for as long as you wish. After taking in the views, simply turn back and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead where you started.
