Route Description for Beaver Pond Trail
The Beaver Pond trail is a short and simple trail that is popular in Elk Island. It has a small day use area with public restrooms in the parking area. The trail leads directly east out of the parking area and travels 500 m to Beaver Pond where it comes to a junction. Take the trail to the left to begin the loop on the lollipop shape of the route. Fulfill the circle and come to the junction at the pond to return to the parking area.
There is some gentle incline on the trail, but it is suitable for all experience levels. Bring microspikes on snowy days as the trail can get slick. Enjoy!
Getting to the Beaver Pond Trail Trailhead
From the south end of Elk Island National Park, travel northbound on Elk Island Parkway to get to Astotin Lake Lakeshore Trail. Pass the Astotin campground on your left and look for the signed Beaver Pond turnoff on your right shortly after. Pull into the parking area here.Route Information
