Route Description for East Skyline Trail
The East Skyline Trail is a great out-and-back hiking route in E.C. Manning Provincial Park that will take hikers on an uphill climb through the beautiful woodlands near Lightning Lake, before traversing a more exposed section of trail along a ridgeline. This latter portion of the trail will provide hikers with an amazing view looking out over the rolling hills and rugged mountains of the park, with the Snow Camp and Lone Goat mountains directly ahead along the ridge. After the initial uphill climb along a series of switchbacks, the trail will level out, making for a nice hike along the exposed ridge. This is a good hike to tackle if you are spending the weekend camping near the trailhead at the Lightning Lakes Campground.
