Route Description for Stoke Woods Circular Walk
There isn’t anything bad to say about the Stoke Woods Circular Walk, other than a bit of uphill walking throughout the route that can easily be traversed in the proper footwear. With a fairly short overall distance and pleasant woodland atmosphere, you will be sure to enjoy a lovely day of strolling under the shady canopy when out exploring the beautiful terrain of Stoke Woods.
Setting out from the lower car park, you will follow the trail to the northeast to cross over a small stream and make your way through the peaceful forest while enjoying lovely views of the surrounding trees and the nearby River Exe. Eventually, you will cross over another stream, and the path will turn to the south to climb up the hillside. After this point, the trail will turn to the southwest and lead you through an elevated part of the forest, where you will enjoy some more beautiful views of trees and nearby fields to the south. When the trail turns back to the north, you will make your descent of the hillside to return to the car park where you began the Stoke Woods Circular Walk.
