Route Description for Peppercombe to Buck’s Mills Trail
The Peppercombe to Buck’s Mills Trail is a straightforward adventure along the Devon coast that features some fun forest and beach terrain that is perfectly suitable for a great family outing on the weekend. Setting out from the trailhead in Horns Cross, you will make your way to the north to descend through the peaceful forests of Peppercombe Wood and arrive at the pebble-covered Peppercombe Beach with its stunning views of the Bristol Channel. After exploring this quaint area by the water’s edge, you will make your way back uphill through the forest and head to the west, traversing the wooded landscape to reach the village of Buck’s Mill. At this point, you will turn to the southeast and make your way back uphill to reach the end point of the walk at the car park where your ride is hopefully waiting to pick you up!
Getting to the Peppercombe to Buck’s Mills Trail Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Peppercombe to Buck’s Mills Trail from Bideford, head west on Abbotsham Road for 1.4mi and turn left to continue on for 375ft. Make a right here onto A39 and follow it for 3.6mi before turning right on Acre Road. You will arrive at the trailhead in 300ft.Route Information
