Route Description for Blackhill Quarry Walk
The Blackhill Quarry Walk is a popular adventure in Devon thanks to the good variety of terrain and scenic views along the route. There are a fair number of intersecting trails along the way, so bring a GPS or trail map in order to stay on course. Setting out from the trailhead in Budleigh Salterton, you will make your way to the northwest to cross the open countryside before passing through some serene forest areas and sections of moor. Eventually, you will loop around the rugged terrain of the Blackhill Quarry and enjoy some nice views across the manmade ponds before turning back to the southeast on the return across the countryside to the starting point of the walk.
Getting to the Blackhill Quarry Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Blackhill Quarry Walk from Exmouth, head northeast on Salterton Road for 2.9mi and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Knowle Hill, following it for 0.3mi. Turn left onto B3178 and continue on for 0.5mi before making a right onto Bedland’s Lane. After 0.3mi, you will arrive at the starting point of the walk.Route Information
