Route Description for Harmony Borax Works
As previously stated, the Harmony Borax Works route is short and flat, and is therefore appropriate for all skill levels and families with young children. Nevertheless, even though it is not physically demanding, it is important that you prepare yourself for the arid environment of Death Valley National Park. We recommend bringing lots of water with you, and that you wear both sunscreen and a hat to help protect you from the effects of the sun.
Having parked your vehicle, locate the trailhead at the southern section of the parking lot. Follow the Harmony Borax Works Trail to the south where you will reach a junction. This section of the trail is a circuit and can therefore be completed in either direction.
Take your time as you follow the trail, stopping to read the educational plaques if you are interested in the history of industrial development within Death Valley, and California more generally. The trail will deliver you back to the initial junction, where you simply follow the pathway to the north back to the parking lot.
