Route Description for Cod Wood and River Teign Circular Walk
Walking the Cod Wood and River Teign Circular Trail is a pretty easy-going adventure in Devon that will get you acquainted with the charming forest landscapes that can be found within Dartmoor National Park. Setting out from the car park, you will make your way into the thick cover of the forest and head north to the View of the Valley, where you will enjoy some beautiful scenery and have the chance to explore the site of an Iron Age hillfort. From here, you will make your way downhill towards the banks of the River Teign and follow them to the east for a lovely stroll along the water’s edge. Shortly after crossing a road, you will turn to the southwest and follow along a stream before climbing uphill on the return leg back to the car park.

To get to the trailhead for the Cod Wood and River Teign Circular Walk from Moretonhampstead, make your way north for 0.2mi along Lime Street and turn left. Continue along this road for another 0.8mi, before making a slight left. After 1.1mi, keep to the left through the fork and turn right in another 490ft. You will find the car park on the left in 0.2mi.Route Information
