Route Description for Belstone to Hangingstone Hill Walk
The Belstone to Hangingstone Hill Walk is a spectacular adventure in Dartmoor National Park if you are looking for a longer route that features a good variety of terrain and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Setting out from the village of Belstone in front of The Tors Inn, you will head to the southwest and begin the uphill climb along the slopes of the Belstone, Winter, Knattaborough, and Oke tors on the way to the summit of Hangingstone Hill. After taking in the views of the rugged Dartmoor landscape, you will turn to the northeast to traverse the Wild and Little Hound Tors before fording a river on the return back to the trailhead in Belstone.
Getting to the Belstone to Hangingstone Hill Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Belstone to Hangingstone Hill Walk from Okehampton, drive east on East Street/B3260 for 2.2mi and turn right to continue on for another 0.8mi. Make a slight right here and follow the road for 295ft before making a slight left. After 120ft, turn left to arrive at the starting point of the walk in front of The Tors Inn.Route Information
