Route Description for Crossing Alpine Pastures Hike
The Crossing the Alpine Pastures Hike begins by taking the Crans-Cry d'Er cable car to the middle station Merbé. From there, walkers will then cross mountain pastures, taking in the magnificent views that stretch out across the alpine landscape. Eventually, the path will continue to the Colombire Alp Museum near Aminona, which explains the history of transhumance in the region.
Getting to the Crossing Alpine Pastures Hike Trailhead
To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 1640ft, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". Once you arrive in Crans-Montana, follow the signs that lead you to the cable cars and the Crans-Cry d'Er car park.Route Information
