Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southeast and descend into the wooded expanse of St Nectan’s Glen, where you can pay to visit a cascading waterfall. Here, a local myth says that St Nectan built his hermitage above the falls in the 6th Century. After passing through the glen, you will make your way west through the village of Tintagel.
After making your way through the village and passing by the church of Saint Materiana, you will head north along the coast to explore Tintagel Castle, Merlin’s Cave, the King Arthur Statue, and several other fascinating sites tied to the legend of King Arthur. Once you have explored the site, you will head east through the rocky valley in order to arrive back at the trailhead where you began.
