Route Description for St Ives to Carbis Bay Walk
Whether you are looking to experience the beautiful views along Carbis Bay or make your way around the countryside to visit historical landmarks, the St Ives to Carbis Bay Walk is an exceptional route that you will certainly enjoy.
Setting out from the Trenwith Car Park, you will make your way to the southeast, traversing quiet roads and serene stretches of woodland as you climb the hillside on the way to Knill’s Monument. After taking in the views of the surrounding area from this elevated position, you will make your way east to descend the hillside and pass through Carbis Bay.
Once you have reached the water’s edge, you will head towards the northwest along the forested shoreline. If you are walking during low tide, you will likely be able to spot some of the shipwrecks that can be found in the bay. After passing by Porthminster Beach and arriving at the St Ives harbour, you will turn to the southwest and make your way through town in order to return to the car park where you started the St Ives to Carbis Bay Walk.
