Route Description for Penrose and Porthleven Walk
If you can’t decide on a walking route because you are torn between experiencing the beauty of the Cornish Coast and taking in the historic charm of the region, why not do both along the Penrose and Porthleven Walk that will allow you to both explore an historic estate and walk the length of the coast for views of the sea.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way east through the woodland terrain to travel slightly downhill around the Penrose Estate. Here, you will be able to spot Penrose House and the Old Bath House, before passing by The Stables on the way to the edge of The Loe. From here, you will make your way south along the water’s edge until you arrive at the picturesque Cornish Coast.
Turning to the right, you will make your way through the coastal landscape as the trail leads you to the northwest, eventually taking you on a loop through Porthleven. After turning back to the southeast and arriving at Highburrow, you will follow the bridle path uphill as it loops across the open farmland to eventually bring you back to the car park where you began your journey.
