Route Description for Hayle and The Towans Circular walk
For those looking to appreciate the natural beauty of the Cornish Coast without straying too far from home, the Hayle and The Towans Circular Walk will allow you to take in beautifully scenic views of both the Hayle Estuary and St Ives Bay while sticking close to the town of Hayle.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northwest along N Quay while taking in sweeping views across the Hayle Estuary. Shortly after passing by a car park, you will arrive at the point where the estuary meets with the waters of St Ives Bay, at which point, you will follow the trail as it bends to the northeast and offers views of the sandy beach.
As you walk along the coastal trail, you will pass by several World War Two era fortifications and enjoy sweeping views across St Ives Bay, before following the trail inland across some coastal terrain. Heading to the south, you will eventually reach the edge of a small body of water known as Copperhouse Pool. Make your way west here and continue along the water’s edge until you arrive back at the trailhead where you began.
