Route Description for Godolphin Cross Circular Walk
Whether you are looking to stroll the grounds of an historic estate that dates back to the 15th Century or simply want to gain a bird’s eye view of the picturesque Cornish countryside, the Godolphin Cross Circular Walk will be sure not to disappoint.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the southwest to climb up Godolphin Hill, where you will enjoy some nice views of the surrounding estate grounds and the villages further afield. From here, you will traverse the countryside to the southeast, similarly climbing uphill to come to the summit of Tregonning Hill, where you will experience even more beautiful views that include the surrounding farmland and stretch out towards the coast.
After experiencing the views, you will make your way down the hillside and follow the trail as it bends to the northeast to pass through the village of Godolphin Cross. Here, the route will turn to the northwest on the approach to Godolphin House, where you will be able to enjoy some spectacular views of the mansion, gardens, and surrounding outbuildings. At this point, it is only a short jaunt back to the car park where you began the walk.
