Route Description for Church Cove and Poldhu Cove Walk
A fairly short and easy walking route that will really showcase some of the beautiful scenery along the coast of the Lizard Peninsula, the Church Cove and Poldhu Cove Walk is an excellent option if you aren’t wanting to take on any challenging terrain but still want to experience the wow factor of the Cornish Coast.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way southwest along the road to pass through the Mullion Golf Course, before arriving at the edge of the coast. Here, you will enjoy some spectacular views looking out onto the sea, as you make your way towards the Church of St Winwalloe and the scenic viewpoint overlooking Church Cove.
After taking in the views, you will skirt along the edge of the coastal cliffs as they lead towards the southeast, eventually leading you to the charming destination of Poldhu Cove. This area was once fortified by the military during the Second World War, but is now a scenic seaside destination for tourists. From here, you will follow the road to the northeast to return to the trailhead where you started your walk.
