Route Description for Caerhays Castle and Gorran Haven Circular Walk
Whether you are wanting to take in the views of the semi-castellated 19th Century manor house known as Caerhays Castle or are simply looking to make your way along the coast for some breathtaking views of the sea from Dodman Point, the Caerhays Castle and Gorran Haven Circular Walk is an excellent way to spend a day outdoors.
Setting out from the car park, you will climb uphill to the southeast for some pleasant views overlooking Porthluney Bay, before continuing along the rugged coastal terrain towards Dodman Point. Once there, you will enjoy some exceptional views that sweep across the deep blue waters of the English Channel.
After taking in the views, you will continue along the coast in a northeastern direction, making your way past Vault Beach until you arrive in the village of Gorran Haven. Heading to the northwest, you will pass through Gorran Haven as well as the charming village of Gorran Churchtown, before cutting across the open fields to the southwest. After descending the forested hillside, you will enjoy some nice views of Caerhays Castle as you make your way back to the car park where you started the walk.
