Route Description for Bude Canal Trail
If you are after a fun adventure that will get you away from the chaos of the city to enjoy a few hours in the countryside, then the Bude Canal Trail is a great option to do so. With wonderful views along the canal and the River Neet, there are also great opportunities for birdwatching.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the south and keep right alongside the canal, passing through a small wetland area as you leave the town of Bude behind. Take some time to enjoy the beautifully scenic views of the countryside and the meandering canal that cuts across it, before you arrive at the most southerly point of the trail next to The Weir Bistro in Helebridge.
From here, you will make your way across the A39 and follow it north for a brief stretch, before crossing over it once again to head northwest along the banks of the River Neet. As you follow along its winding banks, you will steadily make your way back into the town of Bude, where you will wrap up your time on the Bude Canal trail at the car park where you began.
