Route Description for Zook Loop
Adventure the Zook Loop the next time you find yourself in the Cheyenne Mountain State Park. With a myriad of trails to explore, you can customize your hike through the park to your liking and ability levels! This exciting adventure through the meadowlands and over a charming creek delivers epic views of Cheyenne Mountain and the neighboring foothills. Note the State Park charges an entrance fee which typically costs about $9USD.
The Zook Loop departs from the trailhead off JL Ranch Heights Road. The direction by which you complete the circuit is up to your discretion, but we chose to head counterclockwise. Departing from the trailhead, track the Zook Loop Trail west through the exposed meadowlands. Soon after departing, you will reach an intersection, keep left along the Zook Loop. Now tracking east, you will be shaded by sparse pines.
Keep left at the next two intersections, and you will be guided over a small stream before being delivered back to the trailhead. If you still have some gas left in the tank, then head back out and explore further!
