Route Description for Siamese Twins and Scotsman Loop
The Siamese Twins and Scotsman Loop is a great option for those seeking to escape the busyness of the park. Located in the southern end of the park, this route is less trafficked than the more northern trails, and we love it. This tranquil walk will exhibit vistas of the Front Range foothills and the impressive sandstone bluffs and sculptures that decorate the terrain. Note this trek is almost entirely exposed, so make sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection in the summer months!
Your exciting excursion along the Siamese Twins and Scotsman Loop begins from the Balanced Rock Trailhead. From here, track the Strausenbach Trail north. As you wander north, you will be astounded by the sights of the looming sculptures, notably the Scotsman that juts from the desert-like terrain. When you reach the intersection, keep left onto the Columbia Trail, then over the Garden of the Gods Lane, and onto the leftmost Palmer Trail. This route will guide you to the Siamese Twins, a breathtaking sculpture that presents an epic photo opportunity.
From here, take the Siamese Twins Trail south before merging Cabin Canyon Trail west. Follow this route through the meadowlands and outcrops to a junction with the Balanced Rock Trail. At this point, head south along the Balanced Rock Trail back to the trailhead.
