Route Description for Intemann Loop Trail
The Intemann Loop Trail provides the perfect excuse to get out into the fresh air. This hike covers all the bases with manageable terrain, epic panoramas, and lush vegetation. Note this route travels through diverse landscapes, from meadows, pine forest, and exposed bluffs, so we recommend wearing layers as insurance against changing conditions.
Embark on your adventure along the Intemann Loop Trail from the Section 16 Trailhead off Gold Camp Road. From here, head northeast along the Section 16 Trail up the meadow-cloaked terrain, enjoying views of the bustling city below as you wander. Eventually, you will reach an intersection. Here, take the middle route, continuing along the Section 16 Trail. At the next junction, keep right, and at the next, take a left onto the Intemann Trail. This section of the trek will reveal sights of the Red Rocks Canyon and Garden of the Gods Parks below.
Soon the path will reach another intersection. Keep left here, and you will be diverted onto the Waterfall Trail. Hike this path south before heading east along the Palmer Road Rock Trail. Soon you will be reconnected with the Section 16 Trail. Follow this route back to the trailhead.
