Route Description for Gateway and Scotsman Loop Trail
The Gateway and Scotsman Loop Trail is a wonderful route through the Garden of the Gods that can be enjoyed by hikers of all skill levels and ages! Explore the famous Colorado Springs landmark that is littered with like-minded adventurers also admiring the rocks that jut from the terrain. If you are seeking a more isolated adventure, then we suggest heading out in the early morning to beat the crowds!
Embark on your adventure along the Gateway and Scotsman Loop Hike from the Garden of the Gods Visitors Center. Here, track the Gateway Trail west into the park and through the corridor of the Gateway Rocks. Once you reach the Sentinel Spires, take the rightmost Central Garden Trail, which will curve you south. Soon you will merge onto the Palmer Trail, which will deliver you to the Siamese Twins.
From here, you will retrace your footing along the Palmer Trail briefly before connecting with the Scotsman Trail. Follow this path northeast past the Scotsman Rock and up to the Three Graces. At this point, take the rightmost Central Garden Trail, which will deliver you back to the Gateway Trail. Here, keep right and retrace your footing along the Gateway Trail back to the trailhead.
