The Buckskin Charlie Trail is an awesome adventure through the Garden of the Gods Park. Ideal for families and novice hikers alike, this wonderfully scenic hike can be enjoyed by all. Make sure to charge your camera because the scenic terrain warrants plenty of photo opportunities!

Route Description for Buckskin Charlie Trail

The Buckskin Charlie Trail is another variation of routes in the Garden of the Gods Park. Revel in the panoramas of the Sleeping Giant and Grey Rock sculptures that decorate the landscape. As you wander, you will likely be in the company of many other adventurers because this picturesque park is a popular fresh air escape for locals and tourists alike.

Embark on your adventure along the Buckskin Charlie Hike from the Old Colorado City Trailhead. Form here, take the rightmost Old Colorado City Trail north, through the grasslands. As you wander through the exposed terrain, you will be rewarded with sights of the snow-capped Front Range peak in the west and sights of the unique sandstone sculptures in the northeast. Merge onto the Charlie Buckskin Trail briefly before connecting with the Scottsman Trail. Follow the Scottsman Trail northeast to the next junction.

Here, turn right, reconnecting with the Charlie Buckskin Trail. Now tracking south, you will eventually reach the trail’s end. Here, walk along the shoulder of Ridge Road back to the trailhead.
