This fantastic hike will lull you into a state of relaxation with the sounds of the gurgling creek while distracting you from your tired feet with breathtaking scenery. Traveling deep into the wilderness warrants wow-factor scenes and the possibility of a wildlife encounter. We suggest wearing a bear bell to deter any unwelcome encounters. Don’t forget to charge your camera; you’ll want to remember these dumbfounding panoramas.
Embark on your trek along the Bear Creek Trail 666 from the High Drive Trailhead. From here, the High Drive Trail will guide adventurers through the wooded canyon. The route will gradually climb in elevation as you wander, weaving between dense pine forests interspersed with aspen glades and granite outcroppings. Eventually, you will reach an intersection where the High Drive Trail veers left. Here, keep right, and you will be diverted onto Bear Creek Trail 666.
Follow Bear Creek Trail 666 further into the wilderness, trekking along the northern slopes of Mays Peak and Mount Buckhorn. As you meander, make sure to take the time to enjoy the forested canyons below. When you reach the trail’s end, simply turn around and retrace your footing along the paths all the way back to the trailhead.
