Route Description for Grand View Point Overlook
The Grand View Point Overlook Trail is a short hike with stunning views that is accessible to everyone. This hike is popular, so it can get crowded, and there is not any shade along this route so come prepared with good sun protection and a bottle of water. This is one of the few paved trails in Canyonlands National Park and it’s a great way for people pushing strollers or folks in wheelchairs to get out and see the beauty that the Utah desert has to offer.
From the trailhead, follow the well marked, paved path southwest to the viewpoint.
At the overlook, look out across Canyonlands National Park to see iconic formations such as the Needles, Monument Basin, and White Rim Road. Gaze even further to see the Abajo Mountains and the La Sal Mountain Range in the distance. If you are looking to explore further, the unpaved Grand View Point Trail continues southwest to a second, equally spectacular viewpoint.
