Route Description for Prairie Winds Park Loop
The Prairie Winds Park Loop is a route that isn’t as desirable as some of the more popular areas in the city. This is an excellent option if you are looking to kill some time near the airport or find yourself in the neighborhood.
The park is a small area and the Prairie Winds Park Loop is a quick and easy trail. If you have kids there is a playground in this park that makes for great fun.
The trail starts in the south parking area and can be walked in either direction. There is a clear route that circles the park. There are some other intersecting trails through the park that you may add on if you would like to extend your walk or explore the park further.
As the trail is only 1.1 km long, you’ll be able to see where you are going as you make your way through the park. The trail is smooth and easy to follow with almost no elevation gain.

Getting to the Prairie Winds Park Loop Trailhead
To get to the Prairie Winds Park Loop trail, follow AB-2 northbound from the city centre. Take exit 261A for Mcknight Blvd NE Eastbound, staying right off the exit ramp. Turn left onto 47 St NE and left again onto Westwinds Dr NE. Take a right onto 44 St NE and find yourself at the southern edge of the park.Route Information
