Route Description for Lochan Mor Walk
For those that want a laid back walking route that features little in the way of difficulty, a beautiful forest setting, and wonderful lakeside views, the Lochan Mor Walk is a great option to get outside and explore the natural beauty of Cairngorms NP.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will follow Tullochgrue Road to the southeast for a short distance, before branching off to the southwest. Here, you will pass through the cover of the forest until you arrive at the scenic location of Lochan Mor, which is a great place to pause for a brief rest.
Continuing along the trail to the southwest, you will quickly meet up with the edge of Loch an Eilean Road and follow it to the right. After arriving at a junction with B970, head right and follow it across the countryside to the northeast, where you will eventually arrive at the starting point of your adventure.
