Setting out from the trailhead at the Glenmore Visitor Centre, you will head to the northeast past the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre and enter into the cover of the forest. Here, you will make your way through the hills of Meall a’ Bhuachaille and Greag nan Gall, while passing by the charming shores of An Lochan Uaine, also known as the Green Loch.
After passing through the rugged terrain of the hills, you will enter the Abernethy Forest to meet up with the banks of the River Nethy. Here, you will follow the winding banks of the river to the north, taking some time to appreciate the magical forest setting and the relaxing riverside atmosphere, before making your way into the endpoint of the walk at Nethy Bridge.
