Route Description for Loch An Eilein and Loch Morlich Walk
For those adventurers that enjoy undertaking lengthy journeys through vast swathes of woodland terrain to reach scenic viewpoints, then the Loch An Eilein and Loch Morlich Walk will be an ideal adventure. In addition to conquering the forests of Cairngorms NP, you will also visit several beautifully scenic lochs that will certainly make the effort all the more worthwhile.
Setting out from the trailhead next to the Rothiemurchus Centre, you will head to the southwest through forest and open meadows in order to reach the edge of Loch An Eilein. Take some time to appreciate the scenic views across the water, as you skirt around the shores of the loch and begin to make your way in an eastward direction.
After traversing the vast and beautifully atmospheric expanse of the forest, you will eventually arrive at the shores of another beautiful loch known as Loch Morlich. Here, you will make your way around the shores of the lake in an anticlockwise direction, once again taking in the lovely views before following Cairngorm Road back to the starting point of your walk.
