Route Description for Creag Bheag and Loch Gynack Circular Walk
If you are wanting to experience a variety of terrain in Cairngorms National Park without heading too deep into the mountains, then the Creag Bheag and Loch Gynack Circular Walk is the perfect route for you. This intermediate length trail features woodlands, a charming loch, and moorland terrain, making for a fun outing with plenty to look at.
Setting out from the car park in Kingussie, you will head to the northeast through the village, before turning to the north to enter a beautiful stretch of woodland landscape. From here, you will follow the banks of Gynack Burn, as it will lead you to the northwest to eventually arrive at the scenic shores of Loch Gynack.
After skirting around the shores of the lovely lake, you will traverse an open expanse of moorland terrain to the south, as you enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, including Creag Beagh. Eventually, you will meet up with the A86 and follow it to the northeast to arrive back at the car park where you began.
