Featuring a fair amount of elevation gain, rugged and boggy terrain, and scenic views across Cairngorms National Park, the Allt Scheicheachan Bothy Circular Walk is a great long distance route if you are looking to push yourself and experience the rough landscape of the highlands.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will follow the road for a short distance, before skirting around the edge of the Blair Castle estate grounds. Shortly after passing the Hercules Gardens, you will head right at a fork in the path and make your way northeast, passing through the woodland terrain of Blair Uachdar Wood as you head north through Glen Tilt.
Following the path as it bends to the northwest, you will climb uphill through the hills of Meall Reamhar, Elrig, and Carn Dearg Mor, while enjoying views of Beinn a’Chait to the northeast. Here, the trail will turn to the southwest and lead you past the Allt Scheicheachan Bothy, before continuing directly south across the rugged landscape.
