Route Description for Sugar Loaf Mountain Circular Walk
If you don’t mind traversing open fields and serene forests that can be a bit overgrown, and taking in beautifully scenic views of Brecon Beacons National Park, then the Sugar Loaf Mountain Circular Walk will be a great trail for you to explore. Don’t forget a proper set of walking boots to combat the rough terrain!
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northwest in order to traverse several open fields and small stretches of woodland terrain on the approach to Sugar Loaf. You will have a great view of this iconic peak as you cross the open landscape and begin climbing uphill toward the summit.
Here, you will loop around the peak and take in some stunning panoramic views across the undulating terrain of the Welsh countryside, before beginning to make your way back downhill to the southeast. While you will initially take a bit of a different route on the descent, you will meet up with your original path and follow it through the open fields on the return leg to the car park where you started.
