Route Description for Lord Hereford’s Knob and Gospel Pass Loop
For anyone that has been searching for a less busy, but still scenic walking route in a lesser known area of Brecon Beacons National Park, the Lord Hereford’s Knob and Gospel Pass Loop will take you into the mountains for exceptional views of the Welsh countryside.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the west and immediately begin climbing uphill, traversing the grassy hillside on the way to the summit of Lord Hereford’s Knob. Once there, you will enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and hills, as well as the farms and forests to the north.
After taking in the views, you will head to the southeast across the mountain to reach the edge of the escarpment, at which point, you will turn sharply to the north and begin making your way downhill while enjoying views across the expanse of Gospel Pass towards Black Mountain in the east. Eventually, you will reach the bottom of the hill and return to the point where you began your adventure.
