Route Description for Hay Bluff and Lord Hereford’s Knob Circular Walk
Whether you are looking to experience the stunning views of Brecon Beacons National Park or are simply wanting to get out for a good spot of exercise, the Hay Bluff and Lord Hereford's Knob Circular Walk is a great option to take in the Welsh landscape.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the southeast across the grassy open terrain and immediately begin climbing up the steep slopes of Hay Bluff. Once you reach the summit, you will have an amazing sightline overlooking the Gospel Pass to the west and the England/Wales border to the east.
After taking in the views, you will make your way west to descend the mountainside and traverse the valley floor of Gospel pass, before immediately climbing uphill once again to reach the summit of Lord Hereford’s Knob. At this stummit, you will experience some equally stunning views that sweep across the eastern edge of Brecon Beacons National Park. From here, you will head north down the slopes of the peak, following the path as it bends to the northeast across several streams and through a number of fields on the return to the car park.
