Route Description for Fan Frynych Ridge Circular Walk
Featuring amazing sightlines overlooking well-known Brecon Beacons features, such as Pen-y-Fan and Fforest Fawr, the Fan Frynych Ridge Circular Walk is a memorable walking route that will take you through some mildly challenging terrain with gorgeous views to reward you for your effort.
Setting out from the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre, you will make your way across the open countryside to the southwest, taking in the views of scenic fields and forests, before reaching the base of the Fan Frynych Ridge. Continuing on to the southwest, you will loop around the lower slopes of the ridge and climb its western flank to reach a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Fforest Fawr section of the park to the southwest.
After taking in these amazing views, you will turn your attention to the northeast in order to traverse the ridgeline, taking in some breathtaking views of Pen-y-Fan and the Central Beacons to the east. Continue on walking along the ridge to begin your descent, where you will eventually arrive at the edge of the farmland. From here, you will once again traverse the fields to the north in order to meet up with your original path, which you will follow back to the visitor centre where you began your adventure.
