The Chapman Road and Tenderfoot Trail is a magical nature walk that exhibits the beauty of the Colorado wilderness. This epic adventure is a crowd favorite, and there is no doubt as to why. Located next to Flagstaff Mountain, this path is a great option for those seeking a more secluded adventure. Though lesser trafficked than the Flagstaff Mountain Hike, this route can be busy on the weekend, so consider an early morning adventure or a weekday hike to beat the crowds! Note there is a $5USD parking fee.
Embark on your adventure along the Chapman Road and Tenderfoot Trail from the trailhead off Flagstaff Road. From here, veer left onto Chapman Drive Trail through the woodlands. This stunning adventure will guide hikers along a winding forested path to an intersection. Here, keep right, and you will be diverted onto the Tenderfoot Trail. This path will deliver you to the summit of Tenderfoot Mountain which rewards ramblers with expansive views of the verdant foothills. Admire the lovely vista and continue along the track, now heading southwest.
This section of the hike will gradually ascend back to the trailhead. Hike up the Tenderfoot Trail through the lush ponderosa pines. Eventually, the route will deliver you back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
