Route Description for Rock Point Trail
Panoramic views of the river valley and the flanking steep-walled cliffs await. The Rock Point Trail is a short but sweet walk through serviceberry shrubs to the lookout point. Located on the side of the Black Canyon, the overlook and surrounding area are steep and dangerous. Ensure that you and your accompanying party stay on the trail at all times.
To get to the Rock Point Lookout take the well-marked Rock Point Trail. This path will culminate at the overlook. Enjoy the vista of the keyholes, spires and craggy cliffs below. If the overlook isn't too busy and the wind is calm, you should be able to hear the sounds of the Gunnison River running through the canyon below.
When you are done admiring the view, retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
