Route Description for Switzer Falls and Bear Canyon Camp Hike
Whether you are looking for an awesome trail to camp along for a fun weekend outdoors, or are simply after a beautifully scenic day hike with some great natural features to visit, the Switzer Falls and Bear Canyon Camp Hike is an amazing trail to set out on.
From the parking area, you will follow the paved path as it leads to the southwest through the forest. Here, you will follow closely alongside the banks of Arroyo Seco, as it winds to the south and into the canyon, passing by Switzer’s Trail Camp to visit the cascading waters of Upper Switzer Falls and Lower Switzer Falls.
After taking in the majesty of the falls, you will continue to the southeast along the edge of the river, passing by several deep pools before the trail turns and follows along Bear Creek. Here, you will quickly arrive at the Bear Canyon Camp, at which point you can either set up your camp for the night or turn back along the trail.
