The Mount Lowe Road to Inspiration Point is a great little adventure in the Angeles National Forest that features scenic views and makes for a fun day outing. While out on the trail, you will traverse a mountain roadway that winds around peaks and through a tunnel, before arriving at the scenic vista at Inspiration Point. Make sure to bring plenty of water along for this hike, as the trail is exposed to the sun.

Route Description for Mount Lowe Road to Inspiration Point Hike

For those who don’t mind trekking through the mountains while exposed to the heat of the sun, the Mount Lowe Road to Inspiration Point Hike is a great route to explore. Be sure to have your adventure pass visible in your car prior to your hike.

Setting out from the trailhead at Eaton Saddle, you will follow along the Mount Lowe Motorway as it skirts around the slopes of Mount Markham and Mount Lowe to the southeast.

Eventually, the road will turn more to the south and bring you to the vista at Inspiration Point, where you will enjoy some lovely views of the surrounding Southern California landscape. After taking in the views, simply head back along the same route to return to the trailhead.
